McCardle Cultural Heritage is the only company in NSW to provide in-house services related to forensic anthropology to clients, the Aboriginal community, Heritage NSW, Department of Premier & Cabinet, the NSW Police and the Department of Forensic Medicine Newcastle to ensure the immediate and correct identification of skeletal materials. Some of the NSW Police Task Forces we have assistd in include:

    • Strike Force Arapaima (extensive excavations)
    • Strike Force Bolls (exhumation of 30-year-old grave, trauma analysis of remains)
    • Strike Force Cleander (recovery and excavation of burnt remains, trauma analysis)
    • Strike Force Gavin (search and excavations)
    • Strike Force Hoopeston (excavation)
    • Strike Force Karabi (search, recovery, skeletal trauma analysis, expert witness)
    • Strike Force Maluka (extensive excavations (one of which is the largest undertaken by NSW Police) around Walgett, different locations and different methods as appropriate). This also entailed specific case related scientific experiments with the Science and Research Unit, FETS (paper for publication is currently under peer review), expert witness.
